Logo development can seem as elusive as finding that mythical pot of gold at the end of the rainbow. It may seem as tricky as catching theLeprechaun so he’ll give you three wishes.

But working with an experienced marketing designer is like waking up to discover the Leprchaun has made a special delivery right to your business front door.

Let’s take the mystery out of the process. The best way to start is by defining your brand, as we’ve discussed in an earlier blog post. Only once you’ve defined your brand identity are you ready to consider how to communicate it visually, step by step.

Step #1: Talk. We ask lots of questions to determine your needs and to determine scope for the project. These questions help us give you a suitable quote.

  1. What images do you associate with your business?
  2. What message do you want to convey, and to whom (target customer)?
  3. How will this logo be used? Where will it appear, in what dimensions?

Step #2: Research. You go do your thing as we investigate other businesses in your industry. We look for inspiration while ensuring that the designs we develop are original and unique.

Step #3: Sketch. We toil away behind the scenes, developing several concepts for you. You won’t see them all because some of them will be awful. (Such is the creative process!) It’s our job to narrow the selection down to a few excellent options.

Step #4: Discuss. Every client is different. Sometimes we have some fun going back and forth on the finer points of how the design makes you feel and what reaction you expect from your customers. We may need to go back to the drawing board. Sometimes it’s as simple as pointing to the one you like and giving us the thumbs up. Either way works!

Step #5: Launch. It’s a rush to see your logo roll out over whatever print/digital platforms we agreed upon. You have such a sense of accomplishment knowing that you now own a vital piece of your business identity that will endure for years to come.

That it. We try to make it easy for you here at the Farmhouse. Let us know if you need to develop a fresh logo or if you’d like us to take a look at your existing design. Just reach out. We’ll be waiting at the end of the rainbow where your pot o’ gold awaits.
